Packaging & Shipping

How will my order be packaged?

As we are all about giving, your order will be packaged beautifully using sustainable and recyclable or compostable wrapping and packaging.

Gift Boxes
Each purchase from our Gift Box range will be packaged in a sturdy mailer box, with custom tissue paper, sealed with a custom recyclable/compostable sticker, and with a handwritten postcard (don't forget to leave your message at checkout). Larger gifts will be in our signature boxes, smaller gifts will be in a branded kraft box - we will choose the most sustainable option (that which requires the least amount of additional packaging).

Other products
All other purchases will be packaged in a plain sturdy mailer box (or book mailer), with our own tissue paper, sealed with a recyclable/compostable sticker, and with a handwritten postcard (don't forget to leave your message at checkout). If it's a local delivery, it may be packaged in a gift bag.

It's all recyclable or compostable!
Yep, all of it! Our tissue paper and paper stickers are acid-free, FSC certified, printed with soy based inks, and are compostable. Our signature mailer boxes are PEFC and FSC certified and are 100% recyclable, but we think they're so pretty you should reuse them (store your undies Konmari style or hide your choccie stash...better yet, show us how you reuse your mailer box @wearethegrounded). Our mailbags are home compostable, but they're also reuseable, so do that first! Any tape that may appear anywhere in your package is commercially compostable (yes, it looks like ordinary sticky tape, but it's anything but!).

Can I choose non-fancy packaging?

Yup. Just leave a note at checkout that you don't require gift wrapping and we'll keep it plain and simple.

How will my order be shipped?

All orders are shipped via Australia Post (carbon neutral).

We offer FREE standard shipping for orders over $100.00 and flat rate $10 standard shipping for orders under $100.

If you choose Express, the cost will be calculated at checkout.

Please be mindful of current delays due to COVID-19, and order your gift with plenty of time. For information on current delays, please visit Australia Post.

Items are shipped from Phillip Island, Victoria.

Do you ship to New Zealand?

No, sorry! At this point in time, we only ship to Australian addresses.

Can I do local pick up?

Almost! Though we don't offer local pick up, if the delivery address is on Phillip Island or in San Remo in Victoria, we can hand deliver (be sure to select the correct option at check out).

Will there be an invoice in the box?

No way! We treat each and every box as a gift, so there's no chance of the recipient finding a sneaky little invoice inside. The only things in the box are the gifts, some packaging to keep it all secure and safe, and a handwritten card.

How will the recipient know it's from me?

Don't forget to leave your message for the recipient before checking out. If you want them to know who it's from, be sure to leave your name. You might also choose to send a sneaky gift (I love doing this!), in which case, don't leave your name in the message box. If you have any concerns, send us an email - or make it really clear when leaving your message.

Do you do Corporate Gifts/Hampers?

Yes! We think providing your staff and clients with an ethically sourced gift box/hamper is an awesome way to show that you care about them and about the wider community. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Can I request a custom box?

Sure thing! Contact us and we'll do our best to make it happen.

Will the chocolate ship okay when it’s really hot?

Maybe. For the gift boxes that contain chocolate, if you are sending somewhere particularly hot, we have a few suggestions:

  • Choose Express. Yep, it costs a little more, but might be worth it in the end to ensure the gift spends less time on the road.
  • Purchase early in the week. This should avoid your gift spending the weekend in a hot warehouse or back of a truck.
  • Cross your fingers. Generally speaking, chocolate should arrive in the same condition as when it was sent unless temperatures are above 28-30 degrees.
  • If you’re really concerned, choose a box without chocolate!
  • A friendly FYI: we cannot replace chocolate if it gets exposed to extreme heat, as this is beyond our control. The good news is, even if it looks a little funky, it should still be delicious!
